Education and Residency Committee

This committee oversees all matters related to training and residency programmes within ECAR.

At least 6 members.
Must be ECAR Diplomates.
Represent different species groups and subspecialities (companion animal, ruminants, porcine, equine and biotechnology).
Appointed by the Board.
Serve a 3-year term (re-appointment also possible).
A Chairperson is elected by the Committee members.

Residency Training Standards
- Define criteria for approval of training institutions and residency programmes.
- Monitor, approve, and re-certify training institutions and residency programmes.
- Assess and approve annual Resident evaluations.
Resident Evaluation
- Annually assess progress of Residents.
- Grant final approval before admission to the ECAR examination.
Examination Oversight
- Define and review examination question requirements.
